Cinnamon Creek Archery Range

Making a trip out to Cinnamon Creek Archery Range to shoot some 3D targets on their 80-acre property was worth it. The laid-back, country atmosphere is perfect to test out your archery equipment. The place was packed when we arrived but not once did, we feel crowed. The weather for the day was 104 degrees, and it was only getting hotter.

PICKING OUR SHOTS

Decided to warm up shots we picked an area they call The Flats. We nailed some Jackalopes and Turkey decoys at some short distances. Every target in this area is clear of debris and there are no seriously tough shots. Looking around this area I found that the trails lead to 20 different stations with even better decoys 12-45 yards. After a quick warm up we decided to look for more challenging shots.

We stumbled across a 10-station course what they call “The Trees”. This course had provided shots 15-35 yards, but it gave a more realistic feel with obstacles in front of your path. It was fun practicing passing an arrow through branches for a shot. Even if in real life I would never take that shot. Making a competition of kill shots on a bedded down 7X7 Bull Elk was fun. Finding a standing Brown Bear was very cool. Tucked away in between two trees you could only see it with some binos.

Wanted to shoot some longer shots we moved on to another area on the property in front of their meat processing building. The field to shoot from was the size of a professional football field and loaded up with bag targets. I was able to get my 50, 70, 80 and 90 yards shots before moving indoors to get out of the Texas heat. Check out the video below to see what all we did there.
